Being a Manchester based comapny we thought it would be helpful to have a page dedicated to voip in Manchester. Our offices are located on Manchester Science Park, behind the University, “see location map” which is Manchester version of Silicon Valley. Somewhat smaller but packed with technology businesses.
At Packnet, one of our systems has to generate invoices that should be sending to customers on a monthly basis. The system was written mainly in Perl – so we decided to use some Perl library from CPAN to generate these invoices. After considering a couple of modules, we found that PDF::API2 is one of the most popular and feature-rich module available for this purpose.

We had some reports recently that Google Webmaster Tools was reporting DNS issues with sitemaps and the ability to read you sitemap.xml or sitemap.gz.xml files. Upon investigation of this we couldn’t really find any good reason for this going on. We did find a link in the google webmaster help section which showed that the problem was not local and was happening all over.
With Alistair Darling’s pre-budget report (PBR) due out at some point today one of the most expected changes is the reduction in VAT from 17.5% to 15%. Whilst this is one of a range of matters put forward by the government to stimulate the countries economic growth, in practise how will this effect systems which companies have had in place and working practises.
