Packnet have been trialing the use of the Xen Server for Linux.
Originally spun out from the University of Cambridge, Xen Server has recently been taken over by Citrix. The Xen Suite allows the user to create multiple virtual machines on one server without reducing performance and usability.

We have found the install to be pretty straight forward and the create of virtual machines a breeze. On the negative side it doesnt work with 64 bit architecture, but this should be fixed in the next release, although when that is we just dont know.

We’ve tested install of Ubuntu 32bit Gusty Gibbon and all works well, but we would like to see the 64bit version as otherwise its a bit of a waste of 64bit hardware.
