Packnet will be Live Blogging and Tweeting all the latest news in the world of open source telephony from the annual Astricon convention in Atlanta, GA, USA from October 8-10.

It is the 10th anniversary of the event, so we thought this would be a good time to go and say hello to our neighbours across the pond.

What is Astricon?

Astricon aims to build the awareness and knowledge of Asterisk over a three-day conference with a great mix of individuals from code gurus to social activists.

Keynote Speakers include; Alistair Cunningham, Mark Spencer, Olle E. Johansson, Phil Edholm and Philippe Lindheimer.

What is Asterisk?

Asterisk is an open source framework used in the creation of communications applications. It also powers IP PBX (Internet Protocol Private Branch Exchange) systems, conference servers and VoIP gateways. Asterisk is used worldwide by small and large businesses, carriers, government agencies and call centres.
