FTTP stands for Fibre to the Premises.
Fibre to the premises is a connectivity technology that is based on fibre optic cable being in place all the way from the local telephone exchange to the business location. FTTP is up to 40 times faster than copper based broadband.

What equipment do I need
To take advantage of FTTP the end user will need an ethernet router to manage the connection. The connection is delivered via standard ethernet presentation.

How long does it take to install a FTTP Connection
The current lead time for an FTTC connection is 14 working days. According to the latest updates from BT Openreach, FTTC/P will be available to 66% of the UK population in 2014.
What else do I need
End users should be aware that the installation of FTTP can be subject to survey by BT Openreach engineers and that in certain cases excess installation charges may apply.
Is there a download cap on data with FTTP
This is dependant on your Internet Service Provider. The variety of packages available will go from light usage at around 10Gb per month downloaded to unlimited usage.
