Shared hosting – This means that you are essentially sharing a server’s resources with other websites on the same machine. Ninety percent of the time, this is the preferred approach as the advantages are a much less expensive solution with many of the same features you would find in a dedicated environment.
Dedicated hosting – In this case, its your server and you do with it what you wish. You can either purchase the server and co-locate the server with us or we can configure a server (Linux only) and give you root access to run the machine.
Packnet also offer server management and maintenace, should you not have the inhouse skill set to look after your machine. This can be tailored to your business needs from cover during business hours to full 24 × 7 cover.
You can also take advantage of our server monitoring which can be setup to advise you of server issues via SMS.
