Case Study - Multi Site Organisation

Coloured Jigsaw pieces

Company A has three sites throughout the UK that were in operation during standard UK working hours 9am-6pm. Each site has existing traditional PBX systems and a combination of ISDN and analogue phone lines.

The concept which they approached Packnet with was to have one centralised Hosted IP PBX solution that would allow the company to route calls to any site and have the flexibility to incorporate home and mobile workers, and thus do away with the current PBX systems and the expensive ISDN and analogue lines.

The solution which Packnet brought to the client catered for all the requirements. In stages each site was moved from traditional telephony to a full VoIP solution. New numbers were assigned to the business and once the networking and connectivity arrangements had been deployed SIP handsets were setup on the clients networks in each of the three sites.

Dialplans and IVR recordings were put in place, home workers were setup again with SIP handsets and mobile workers had soft phones installed on laptops and mobile phones. All three sites moved to the Packnet Metis system over the course of one week. Both the new and old system ran in parallel and the traditional services were turned off after two weeks.

The company now has a singular system which allows for increased efficiency and management of both incoming and internal calls, which are free of course, and the ability to transfer and move calls quickly to the correct person. They have one point for all call reporting and call recording data can be stored within their internal CRM when required.
